It wasn't his favorite chore out of his teaching life. Of course, no one really ever enjoyed looking over a classroom full of delinquents but someone had to do it. Even though he pretty much hated it, he took most turns here. Gave him some extra time to work on his grading while actually getting paid for it. Not only that but it also dragged out the time between the end of his school day and when he would have to return to an empty and lonely apartment. The more time he spent in that place the more likely it was for him to get frustrated and leave. He was nearly thirty, he shouldn't be wasting his time in night clubs anymore. Still, it's where he found himself more often than now.[break][break]
This? This was a pretty crappy substitute for that, but it prevented him from making more terrible life decisions than strictly necessary. He had a strict quote he needed to maintain, but not exceed. Exceeding that would mean likely coming into work with a solid hangover, and that has been known to be not-so-great for his career. Even if none of his students, and most of his coworkers hadn't even been able to tell the difference. He wasn't really even sure what tipped off the nosy history professor from down the hall but he would get retribution.[break][break]
The professor pinched the bridge of his nose before putting on his reading glasses and beginning to go over the papers from his classes. Literature was so boring in comparison to the creative writing he got to teach when it came to grading. He was pretty sure he had read each type of argument any of his students could possible come up with for the sets of novels that was on his list of material he had to get through. Sure, he got to choose some of his own to fill the gaps but that didn't mean he got out of teaching other things.[break][break]
It was a waiting game, between the end of classes and him waiting for whomever had gotten the detention to show up. It varied, Anywhere between a single student and something near twenty five. He really preferred the small days because it was easier to be lazy. He didn't have to keep as close of an eye on the room if it was a single person.

i wanna fly & BURN DOWN ALL THE WALLS I'VE BEEN BUILDING UP INSIDE
Walking into detention didn't make Kaida think any less of himself as he nodded to the teacher. This was kind of a normal thing. This time all he'd really done was ask another student to drop to his knees and well.... you get the point. To his luck, a teacher happened to be walking by during the conversation and now here he was, taking a seat in the middle of the classroom.
It only took about two minutes before Kaida was slouching down in his seat, tapping a pencil against the side of the desk. He wondered who all sat in this desk anyways. Maybe he'd carve some type of profanity into it if the teacher decided to leave just to find out if someone made a big deal out through the grape vine later. He enjoyed causing chaos a little too much, always doing random little things that he'd forget about until hearing something about it way later.
Kaida let out a loud sigh, making sure to drag it out to seem extra dramatic. Anything he did he preferred to be noticed. He kind of liked being annoying, because it irritated people enough sometimes to say something about it. Then it'd lead to a conversation, maybe even an argument, and his boredom would be lifted for a short time. Teachers were probably used to that sort of thing though, and knew how to avoid a student just looking for attention. With that thought, maybe a little talking in a generally quiet place would make something happen. It felt like the silence of this place was threatening to consume him despite the noise from his pencil tapping. "It's so stuffy in here, Teach." He raised his hand after he'd already made the comment. "Think you could at least open up a window? It kind of smells on top of it."

Kierran rolled his eyes at the student's complaints. He didn't look up from his papers, flipping to the next paper as he contemplated his request. He was more or less comfortable, despite the button down, suit jacket and tie, the uniforms weren't anything to complain about here, but he sighed. "If you must, feel free." He said, waving towards the block of windows on the side of the room, "But only one." He amended after a moment. The weather was sure to turn as the sun started to set and he didn't much like being cold. He hadn't for a long time, probably since having to wait for emergency services for what felt like ages but was probably not much longer than a half hour, an hour at most. [break][break]
The complaint of the room smelling was frivolous, it smelled no different than any other classroom on any other day. They did keep the rooms immaculate when they were cleaned after classes. Anything less would be considered sloppy and likely the students in question would end up in this very room for detentions. It might at least be a little more interesting than the one on one session it was looking to be. They were rare but not unheard of. And considering the time of year he was pretty sure most of the sports teams were under strict instructions not to be idiots, as training was beginning to ramp up. [break][break]
The boy was recognizeable, likely having spent time in detentions before, but he didn't make any effort to learn those other than his own student's names. There were a few he couldn't help but take note of, and they were the ones in the room day after day with few exception. He was fidgety, and had a taste for dramatics that could make this whole session annoying. He really just wanted to get it over with. He flipped another page, scribbling a few notes into the margin almost immediately upon beginning to scan it. Literature assignments were going to be the death of him, he'd have to work in one of his own selections in the next slot before he worked on the next novel on his required list, or he might just go insane for real. ulla [newclass=.itsover b]color:#a366b6[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1]transition:1s;overflow:hidden;height:200px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1:hover .fromyou1]transition:1s;margin-top:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1]background-color:#2f2f2f;opacity:.8;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;color:#fff;padding:10px;margin-top:250px;width:150px;transition:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1 a]font-family:courier new;text-transform:uppercase;color:#a366b6;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass]

"But only one," Kaida made sure to mock his response under his breath. "So serious. What does he have against fresh air?" Kaida grumbled, trying to keep his voice quiet enough so even if someone heard what he was muttering, they probably wouldn't be able to make out any of the words.
The dark haired boy lifted himself out of his seat, standing on it for just a moment before jumping over his desk and onto the floor. They were movements he was sure weren't very appreciated in the setting they were in, but he just couldn't stop himself from doing all of the little things he did. Kaida slowly started making his way over to the window where he then dramatically opened it. He put one hand on each of the sides of it, extending his arms out long and then pulled with a face that pretended it was having a hard time with such a simple action. When he was finished, he wiped the invisible sweat from his forehead and walked back to his seat.
He slid into his chair and folded his hands neatly before resting him on the desk. Then, he proceeded to stare at the teacher, hardly blinking. He felt if he did this long enough, it might just be a funny story to talk about later or something. He was bored, as he'd stated in his mind a billion times since waling into this room, and he wondered if the teacher would bother doing anything about Kaida staring holes into his face.

All in all at least he wasn't a dull student. Of course, it meant his job was a little more difficult but it also gave him something to pay attention to in the background. He always did work better multitasking. That's why he had been so active when he was younger. Now he felt boring, and everything was monotonous. He didn't know how to break up the routine of his day to day life working in a place like this. [break][break]
It only took him a handfull of moments to notice the boy staring at him. For some reason he found that incredibly amusing. He let it go on for a few seconds longer, seeing if he had just zoned out of if it was deliberate. He decided he didn't care much either way, and lowered the papers in his hands. Adjusting his seat at his desk he crossed his arms and stared back at the student.[break][break]
His gaze was unblinking as he met the student's eyes. He was fairly certain he was fairly certain he could unnerve the other into looking away, after all many said his gaze was piercing. He had the kind of attitude about his job that he was either a student favorite teacher, or their least favorite one with very little in between.[break][break]
Kierran wanted to push his students to grow. To be better than they were when they entered his classroom the first time, and it meant he could be a little tough on them. He found the notion of laziness wasteful and annoying at best. He didn't like seeing wasted potential leave his classroom after a school year. ulla [newclass=.itsover b]color:#a366b6[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1]transition:1s;overflow:hidden;height:200px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1:hover .fromyou1]transition:1s;margin-top:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1]background-color:#2f2f2f;opacity:.8;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;color:#fff;padding:10px;margin-top:250px;width:150px;transition:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1 a]font-family:courier new;text-transform:uppercase;color:#a366b6;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass]

The professor was now crossing his arms and staring back. Kaida considered himself a professional at staring, and he managed to keep a completely straight face. He wasn't sure if the teacher was messing with him back or if he was just starring, waiting to see what the hell Kaida was doing. Honestly, Kaida was kind of hoping he was rising to the challenge. Nothing would make detention more amusing then a teacher planning along with his ridiculous annoying tendencies. Kaida kept his face like stone, unwilling to let it waver for even a moment. He even spaced out his blinking, causing him to look like a zombie of sorts.
The teacher had a stare that felt like daggers were directly being thrown into him. Kaida just found that all the more amusing. He was definitely a scary guy, and he would probably do some scary things if he was provoked. That definitely wouldn't be boring. Anything that would keep things interesting Kaida was completely on board for.
Life was full of so many moments that had nothing to offer. Kaida was always looking for anything he could to keep the dull as far away from himself as he possibly could. If that meant he had to be a little bit insane, he was going to be a bit insane. Some people would argue that that he was a lot insane. Those people were usually the most boring of all. They were kind of a bit of a waste of space if one were to ask him. A cruel thought, but one that he found to be true enough.
After the staring had been assumed to have continued for a short moment, Kaida unlatched his hands from one another and very, very, kind of ridiculously slowly raised one up in the air.
