Personality: [ Don't let them take your kindness for weakness. ]
- As a start to Kaoru's youth, the boy was truly kind hearted from the day he'd learned to speak and walk. Attracted to animals, especially birds. He always held a soft spot for them. People easily won him over by gradually gifting him with a small bird, one that he would release a few days later, knowing that no bird deserved to be caged. He's born with an outstanding sense of righteousness, as he would rather not stand and watch others get bullied or their rights being taken away from them. He's a stranger to violence, though, even action movies seem to disgust him. Though his words are more than enough to put others where they belong, sometimes.
He has a caring heart, one that cannot wrong people. His tongue is not sharp-edged or filled with envy and hatred. He does not shy away from being nice to strangers or ones who are not nice to him, kindness can sometimes win people over or push them away and he has no control over what he was born with, as simple as that.
Kaoru is also known for his forgiving heart, he doesn't hold grudges against people, not for long. That grudge could last a day or two, three days approx. Unless they had wronged his family way beyond the red line. Among other traits as being gentle, patient and calm, Kaoru is also a neat person. One who'd organize his room because he's got nothing to do or simply because he spotted a disorderly spot somewhere in the room. He's also a bit playful, though that side seems to come out whenever Izzy is around.
But, there is no denying that every person has a bad side attached to them. Like a dark shadow racing after them. Nobody carried a perfect heart, after all. Kaoru is very oblivious to most things, such as Izzy's feelings toward him or how people talked about him behind his back or literally next to him. If those words aren't spoken directly to him, he'd never notice. He's a little airheaded and forgetful, missing a few important days would be normal for him and sometimes, people forgave him for that.
Sometimes, when the lights are fixated on him, which means, people's eyes, he can be quite clumsy. He has the tendency of dropping his books or bumping into someone or maybe tripping when he's pretending to walk with his head held high. He can't latch onto pride for too long without falling with it. People can easily scare him, though if someone really scares him, he'd go into a slight shock where he'd stop speaking and moving for a few minutes, it's an odd case for him to have, but it also kept people away from scaring him.

History: Kaoru's parents were known for their kindness. They were known for a lot of good traits stuffed with the two newly -weds. They were graced with a child, one that did not survive the birth, but within the second try, they finally managed to save the baby from dying like the first. Just like that, they had a child of their own. One that had the brightest eyes and soft hair and grew to be long later on as he grew older.
His parents, more than willing to always offer a helping hand to others, they did not mind taking care of a young boy named Izzy. As a child, Kaoru had a hard time making friends, but that didn't seem to be the case with the red-haired boy. They soon became close friends and their friendship was like an invisible string pulling them together if they ever part away. He never regretted meeting Izzy and his parents were more than willing to help babysit him now that their son finally made a friend.
But then, things turned bad for his best friend when his father was murdered. He followed his own nature and did the right thing by sticking by Izzy's side, trying to help him out of that dark side. He never knew that he was the light shining Izzy's darkness.
And just like that, his parents took the boy in. A choice that Kaoru agreed on wholeheartedly. He felt that strange need to protect the boy no matter what, his room was close to his, which made it easier for the boy to come and complain about anything that made him upset and just like that, Kaoru would try to make him feel better. Their friendship was pretty tight that even students at school started to make fun of it, calling them as a couple and even the girls gave them odd glances.
But he also knew they wouldn't go near Izzy, or else they'd face Kaoru's wrath. After all, it is said that the anger of the kind one should always be feared by others. He didn't mind the teasing and grew familiar with it, sinking more into oblivion about the fact that his best friend truly fell for him and it was not just a tease anymore.
Something was always a little off about Izzy, he was always a little distant, Kaoru always had a feeling that the boy was holding something back. Something like a big dramatic secret he'd only heard about in the movies or read about in the books. But, he didn't feel like pushing Izzy was over his limits, that was just not like him and maybe under the pressure, something bad would happen to his best friend and he'd never want that to happen. And just like that, he forgot about that worry.
Life finally started to look up at him when a girl from his homeroom confessed to him and asked him to be her boyfriend. He accepted because he wanted to know the taste of love that the writers always wrote about and it always ended with a cliffhanger. Reading about it and actually going through it was different. One thing he knew for sure was that he had to tell his best friend. Just like that, he went into his best friend's room and rested his arm around him and told him about the girl, Akira. Luckily, Izzy supported him and that only made Kaoru feel more alive.
After that night, something started to feel different about Izzy and how he was suddenly retreating. He always dismissed his worries, he tried everything possible and tried to have a long talk with Izzy, but he never gave him the chance to do so. He kept trying and trying before he'd finally given up on trying to find out what was wrong with him and why he was suddenly pushing him away.
His friendship with Izzy got its strength back, strangely whenever Akira was around. He'd act all friendly, he never thought he was doing it to tease his girlfriend and push her away from him. He just presumed that Izzy missed him and wanted nothing more but to fix his relationship with Kaoru. He happily accepted the attention, wanting nothing more but to make his best friend happy. He trusted him enough to make Akira meet him, after all. It was definitely better than before as Izzy was no longer brushing him off because that action definitely broke Kaoru's spirit.
Akira always seemed stressed whenever she came around and when he took her with him to see his room after he told her about a few things inside since she shared the same love for animals as him, he thought he'd show her what he had inside about them and how to treat them rightfully. But then when he stepped inside, the light source coming from the house's chandelier that was illuminating Kaoru's room was blocked by Izzy's demanding form and that cruel fight went on until he heard the sound of his girlfriend falling over by the harsh action of his best friend pushing her back.

He'd yelled at him then, for the first time. But then when he accused his girlfriend of being with another guy, he didn't believe him. He took his girlfriend back home, who was walking on one leg, complaining about her ankle quite a few times which only made Kaoru more confused as to why Izzy would do that from the start and just like that, she was pulling him by strings to turn him against his only friend. After making sure Akira got home safe, he crossed by Izzy's room to hear the distant sound of his cries and his heart broke into pieces.
It was painful, too painful to walk away and before he knew it, he was inside the red-haired boy's room, comforting him. He just couldn't figure out why he was doing this. If he thought the first distance between them was horrible, he should've waited for the second one. It almost seems like distancing himself from Kaoru was the only choice Izzy truly had on his plate and it only pained Kaoru more because he could no longer figure out the reason behind all of it.
He broke up with his girlfriend after hearing her constant demands of breaking everything off with his best friend, whatever that meant. For some strange reason, she thought they were together and Kaoru was toying with her to merely enjoy his time. Much to his own dismay, Izzy moved away and soon enough, Kaoru made up his own mind to go to Tokyo and join the same Univesity as Izzy, too. He wanted to study to become a veterinarian and that was his first step.
