[attr="class","itsover"] Daichi took a large bite out of his burger and chewed it while staring out at what would appear to be nothing. He was sitting down, leaning his back against the school building, and just watching nature.... Or rather, pretending to watch nature while his mind drifted off into fantasy land. He probably should have been eating inside of the cafeteria, but he couldn't exactly listen to music in there. His headphones were one, blaring at full volume. Passersby's could hear the music coming out of the damn things. Daichi liked his music loud. There was just no other way to listen to it. It also probably mostly just sounded like he was listening to a bunch of people screaming in his ears. That was his choice, however. He listened to many different types of music, but he really preferred the most dramatic. It got the blood pumping through his veins, even if he wouldn't look that way to any outsiders. To others, he usually just looked like he was floating in another realm, far too distant for anyone to reach.[break][break]
Daichi took the last bite of his burger before crumpling up the wrapper. He'd brought left over food from home, which was really just fast food. Complete junk that would fill him up quicker then any health food. He knew it was bad for him, but he really didn't care. His metabolism was good enough, and he refused to be like the rest of the weight watching jocks around here. He tossed the wrapper up and into a near by trash can so he wouldn't have to leave the spot he was sitting in. It made it, considering he actually had decent aim, not that anyone would notice with a whole list of bad qualities that over powered any good ones. He didn't feel like going back in yet, and he had plenty of time left. Part of him was even considering just skipping. He could go all the way home and slip into his room without his parents even noticing. They probably weren't even home. They'd probably get a call about it later, but all they'd do is sigh at him. They didn't expect anything different out of him anyways.[break][break]
Daichi's fingers started tapping subtly against the ground next to him in beat with the music he was listening to. He threw the thoughts about his parents out of his mind. He didn't want to let people who didn't even care about him bother him. It was a waste of time and emotions. Daichi looked down when his song was over, flipped to another one of his liking, and then returned to his original staring off into space position. His life was so full of nothingness when he wasn't online.

[attr="class","itsover"] In the very corner of his eyes, Daichi could see something that he choose to pretend he couldn't. A guy or... a girl maybe? It was hard to tell, because he absolutely refused to look over and get an actual glimpse of the being. Why was it even coming closer? Didn't people know how to mind their own business? He was just sitting here, not bothering anybody. In fact, Daichi never bothered anybody. To him, it felt like her presence was getting a lot closer. In fact, he was starting to get really uncomfortable and had to work to make sure his facial expression stayed the same so he didn't look like he noticed. His music was up loud enough, it was obvious that he couldn't hear anybody so maybe whoever it was would just... disappear. He continued tapping his fingers lightly against the ground with the beat, trying to make sure he stayed stuck in his own little world. Just go away...[break][break]
Daichi's eyes suddenly widened suddenly as he felt his headphones leaving his ears before he could even do anything about it. His mouth fell open slightly, and the music doubled it's volume to the outside world as it quieted for him. He quickly slammed his lips together in a hard line before whipping his head to the side to finally see the cause of it. He raised an eyebrow. A blond girl. He recognized her from his classes. Incredibly hot but a total bitch. The laughter of her friends came roaring into his ears, and his eyebrow lowered. Now he just felt like rolling his eyes, but he kept himself from doing so. The girl dismissed her friends and the laughter slowly got quieter before she spoke to him. An insult, something that he completely expected from a girl like her. She really needed to find herself a hobby so she'd leave everyone alone. He knew he wasn't her first victim.[break][break]
She dropped his headphones in his lap, and he could feel himself cringe. He wanted to grab for them, but he didn't bother. He didn't want her to know that he cared what she did with his things. He reached slowly into his pocket and hit the button on the side of his phone to stop the music from playing. He looked away from her, not saying a word, but the girl seemed to get closer to him. For some reason, he had still been hoping she'd leave after that. She didn't, and so he knew he was actually going to have to speak to her. He was really dreading it. "Lucky?" He spit the word out like it was poison on hips lips. His voice was cold and sharp as he slowly dared to turn his head back toward the girl to notice that the people around them were even taking a moment to stare. All of the eyes were beginning to burn. "And I'm sorry my choice in music doesn't please you, Barbie. Would you prefer something about sunshine, rainbows, and maybe... a puppy?" He didn't even try to lace his voice with fake concern as his grey eyes starred at her rather harshly. He just wanted this to end. He didn't bother to ask her why she was bothering him. He figured he was just the unlucky target today. "You should probably get back to your friends. Without you, I'm sure one of them is bound to run into a wall any second now."

[attr="class","itsover"] Daichi's eyes were threatening to widen as the tip of her hair tickled his nose, but he kept them locked onto her in the same, cold glare as he'd had before. Still, his nose wiggled slightly. Why was she so close? She was making it really hard not to turn away, but he felt like he would be backing down if he did. The only way to make bullies leave you alone was to stand up to them. Wasn't that the way that one saying went? He couldn't quite remember, but he held onto that. The closeness was incredibly uncomfortable, but it could have been so much worse. At least she smelled nice and wasn't making him want to gag. That would've made not turning away so much frick'n harder for him. Still, the discomfort had proved too much and he'd looked away for that moment anyways, cursing inside of his mind. It was a defeat that he would have to make up for. He wasn't a competitive person, but he knew he couldn't have this little annoyance become a normal thing. He had to take care of it quickly. [break][break] He scoffed. Who was this chick kidding? A boost to his social status was the last thing he would have ever wanted. What he wanted was for her to go away and for people to stop glancing in his damn direction. He doubted half of them even knew his name, and he really wanted to keep it that way. The chick stood up, and he looked up to lock onto her face, avoiding looking at the seemingly endless legs next to him. He didn't want to be a creep, or worse, look and then bump up her ego anymore. Like the girl needed that to be inflated anymore then it already was. [break][break] He stared up at her eyes, trying to keep a straight face while after she'd just made her ridiculous declaration about what he was listening to. The devil? Selling his soul? He looked at her finger as she dramatically pointed at his headphones before looking back up at her. He stared silently for a second, still not breaking eye contact. Then a chuckle escaped him. Then a full on laugh followed it. "Please tell me you're not for real." He coughed down his laugh at her ignorance, trying to gain control of himself again for the moment. It was hilarious, but it wasn't like him to show that much outward emotion. He was just baffled that she'd compared it to such a thing. She really was exactly what he would have assumed Karen Alston would be like. [break][break] Then he caught control of himself again. Daichi's face went back to the cold, hard stare like it had never left him. He was about to say something else, but then something she said sort of struck him. She.... saw him... like every other week. Was that some kind of a joke for dramatic effect? He'd probably misheard that. Most people who saw him didn't even remember him by the next time they'd seen him. There was a kid he'd sat next to from elementary school on up who still couldn't remember his first name. Hell, sometimes he struggled with the last. Daichi looked taken back for a moment, and then did his best to shake it off. Whatever. It didn't mean anything. All she wanted to do was wiggle her cute little ass and be a condescending bitch to him so she could act all high and mighty later when she told the story to her minions and possibly others. If anything, he was feeling a little bit angry because he'd let that cause a falter in his facial expression even if it was for just a second. [break][break] Then she told him to get up. At this point is when he should have put his headphones back on and just ignored her. Or maybe he should have put them on and walked away. Oddly enough, for some reason, he stood up, now able to look down on her from his height. He stared down directly into those blue eyes. "I don't know what the hell made you choose me, but trust me when I say there is nothing here for you, Barbie. So walk away, and go back to your friends. They're the ones who actually need you hanging around." He kept his eyes locked on hers, unsure of where all of the assertiveness had come from. "I'm not a charity case."

[attr="class","itsover"] Homicidal behavior? He was sure her words were having the opposite effect of what the girl had wanted, because Daichi just laughed even louder when she'd said that. She was so stereotypical. He just couldn't believe she actually believed such a thing, but she looked dead serious. If he was at home or talking to one of his online friends, he'd be choking on his laughter about this by now. Daichi didn't even notice that the students seemed to be clearing out. All of his attention was now on the girl and her ridiculous notions. [break][break] His attention only broke from the blond when one of her friend's voices spoke. He looked over at them for a brief moment. They were clearly trying to beckon her away from whatever the hell her current goal was here. Being called a loser by the second minion of Karen's didn't phase him in the least. It was a word he was used to, one that was practically a second name for him now. He'd been called it over and over again by students, his brothers, his parents, and even a few teachers. It was loosing it's effect, and he didn't even bother to roll his eyes at the dimwit. On another note, damn her friend's voice was annoying. How did she even put up with that all day? If her friend wasn't just as much of a witch as she was, he might at least get it, but she was totally just a miniature, wanna-be Karen. That's how he pictured her given what he's seen so far. He wondered if those girls even had a real personality of their own. [break][break] Daichi turned his attention back to Karen when she'd looked back at him, wondering what she was going to do next. He was curious about if she was going to run along to her friends now so he could forget about this whole experience or if she intended to keep trying to antagonize him. He actually rolled his eyes this time. She did exactly what he thought she was going to do. She just kept talking, making sure to try to insult him with her every word. He stared at her, trying to think of what the best response would be to her idiocy. [break][break] The vibes between them were intense, and he was wondering if she was actually going to resort to violence. The last thing he needed was to get slapped in the face. Then everyone would be talking about it. He really didn't want all of those eyes glaring at him, threatening to fight their way into his soul. With the intense anger the thought of that brought on, Daichi shifted until he was standing in front of her and the wall before slamming his hand into the brick right next to her face. He would never lay a hand on her. He was better than that, but at least now maybe he could use height as an intimidation factor. She wouldn't want to bother him again or bring up this whole situation if she was afraid of him, would she? He looked down at her, trapping her between him and the wall, hoping it would be enough to make her want to run away. A piece of him felt sorry that he was being such an ass, but that was easily stomached down by remembering how rude and condescending she was. No matter which way he played this, even if he felt this was his best option, there was no guarantee that people wouldn't find out and talk about it. This girl was threatening his entire way of life now. "Yeah. That's what I want. No reason to keep talking to a loser like me. Now get lost..." He leaned down and hovered his lips only an inch away from her ear. "Barbie." He hissed the word into it in a quieter, more intense tone.

[attr="class","itsover"] Even if it didn't show through on the outside, Daichi's heart was slamming into his rib cage as it beat, threatening to break out of it at any moment. It was nerve racking to be this close to her. It was nerve racking to feel like such a bad guy. He was playing the part so well that even he was believing it as he peered down at the girl. Her facial expression was actually pleasing to the pride he didn't even know he had, and it scared him that he actually wanted someone to be frightened by him. He just had to keep telling himself that this was the only way. His grey eyes were like stone, looking as though they were practically incapable of being any warmer. How was one stupid girl able to get him so damn worked up like this? [break][break] A moment after he'd finished whispering in her ear, the worst pain he could imagine in that moment shot straight into him. His eyes shot wide open and all of his breath escaped him as once. He looked down just in time to see the knee connect and he cringed. His hands immediately flew down after she ducked away and grabbed on in between his legs. He didn't groan, but his mouth quivered as he tried his damnedest to keep from screaming. He flipped around, his back hit the wall, and then he slid down until he was on his ass. He sat with his knees upward, still grabbing hold, and he was leaning forward, panting heavily. His dark hair dangled over his eyes which he couldn't keep from slamming shut as the groan from the pain he was experiencing was finally let out. [break][break] He didn't dare look up, but he heard her words very clearly, and he felt as though he was shot in the chest now on top of the other pain he was experiencing. Daichi's eyes shot open and he stared at the ground, panting. His breathing just continued to get heavier. She was going to tell everyone. He was going to be the talk of the school. His breathing intensified still, and he began to feel dizzy. "Please." The word escaped him, and he simultaneously gasped for air. The back of his throat had to be closing up on him. That was the only explanation he could bring himself to in order to describe what he was feeling. It was like he was suffocating. Was this what a panic attack felt like? "Don't..." He didn't want all the eyes glaring into his soul every single time he walked through a hallway. He knew there was no way he could handle the attention, especially with how negative it would be. The more people who noticed, the more people would tell him exactly what a dead beat he was. How he was going no where. He knew how cruel others could be. There would be no escaping it if a girl like Karen started spreading rumors about him. [break][break] Then an idea sprang on him, and his breathing evened out a bit, though it was still awfully heavy as he continued to choke down the pain in his lower region. He could just stop coming to school. It's not like he needed to go anyways. There was no point. He had no plans of going to college. He could just leave this town, get a small dead-end job if he had to. All he really needed was a small apartment, a computer, and the internet and he was good to go. It wasn't like he had any attachment to this stupid school anyways. He might have been being dramatic, but he wasn't going to allow one girl to ruin his entire fucking life. The angst inside of him was bubbling, and he still didn't dare look up. She'd won. It didn't matter. This was just another defeat to add to the list of defeat achievements he'd already made in real life. "What did I ever do to you?" He spoke quietly, words just as solid as they were before despite the mental breakdown his mind was having. Daichi just needed to know her actual reasoning to prove his was right about her from the beginning. He had nothing in life already, or at least that was how it felt. He thought he'd at least deserve some freaking solitude while still doing what he'd thought was the right thing by actually going to school like a normal teenager. The universe should have owed him that much.

[attr="class","itsover"] Whatever she was telling her friends about him, he couldn't hear it. He wouldn't doubt that whatever it was happened to be a complete lie. He hadn't really done anything but try to stand up to her. The sickness in his stomach from his failure thickened when he heard the sounds of the three girls laughing. Their laughing consumed the space around him. They were cruel, and he really hoped they'd all get what was coming to them one day. If there was anyone who'd made it onto his avoid at all costs list, it was Karen frick'n Alston. If he never heard that name again, it would be way too soon. No one had ever really gotten to him quite like this. [break][break] Even after the girls had left, most likely gone inside, Daichi sat there for a few moments in silence as he waited for the pain to pass enough to move on. When that time had come, Daichi took a deep breath and stood up, placing his headphones back on his ears. He flipped through the songs on his phone before finding a good one and then turned the music at full blast. The sound was blaring from them once again, and he looked as uninviting as he always had. Daichi aggressively shoved his hands into his sweatshirt pockets. He technically wasn't allowed to be wearing it with his uniform, but he'd been outside. There weren't any teachers around, so he'd thought to hell with it when he'd first left the building. He wasn't going to class. He'd be damned if he was even going to show up the rest of the week. He was done with this place for now. He didn't need it. [break][break] He started walking, stopping right before a trash can just to send a foot flying at the metal basket, making sure to kick the damn thing right over. It rolled away further then he'd kicked it. "Bitch..." He mumbled to himself, still unable to get the girl off his mind. It felt like a punishment. His panic attack had come and passed with most of his pain, and now all that was left was the anger and chills the entire situation gave him. Daichi kept on walking, not willing to stop until he was back in his bedroom where he belonged.
