It had a shore like the beach, but it wasn't a beach at all. It was more like a cave with weathered gray walls and pale stalactites hanging from the ceiling, water dripping down the structures. In the center of the body of water that splashed on the stony shore was a very large white tree that was so white that it was practically glowing from how bright it was. It's light was absolutely flawless in this divine display of nature itself. However, the vision vanished when the ginger opened his eyes with his held breath to be reminded that he was still physically submerged in the water that filled the bathtub of his parent's house. The surface world looked like a foreign place to him while under the water as if it were a parallel dimension being viewed through a liquid window. Kensei slowly raised himself out of the water and felt the cool air of oxygen fill his lungs as he did so. He then proceeded to drain the water of the tub before he stepped out of it and dried himself off. Today was the day that he was going to Iwatobi Swim Club Returns, or I.S.C.R., as it was also called. The ginger decided that he would wear a hoodie, jeans, and a pair of sneakers over his fitted swimsuit that reached down just above his ankles. The swimsuit he wore was black in color with orange stripes, a combination he was rather fond of. Neither of his parents were home at this time, but they were aware of his plan for the day nonetheless. Kensei ended up taking the public bus to a stop near I.S.C.R. and proceeded to make his way to the building. He signed in at the counter and was surprised he was the only one in today, but he went about his business regardless. After stripping down to his swimsuit in the locker room and putting his street clothes in his locker, he made his way to the pool. The ginger dived into the pool and swam a relay at a pretty impressive speed before finally pulling himself out of the water. Yet, he wasn't entirely alone either. haruka nanase ,
| His footsteps were one of the only sounds Haruka paid mind to as he absently trailed along the sidewalk of his hometown, hands stuffed deep within the pockets of his jacket, head ducked, eyes focused on the path. The air was as crisp as usual, and the buzz of people was faint, distant. He loved how quiet and welcoming his hometown was; rarely were there the crowds he came upon in Tokyo, those loud, bustling groups that shoved, pushed, and paid little attention to the world around him. He hated to be bumped into by strangers, or loud, irritating people, so it was always great to escape it, even if only short trips.
This one was his second trip home since he had moved a little over a month ago. Although he wasn't in a superglue bond with his parents, he always made sure he took a bit of time and had dinner with them when he could; now that he had moved out, he ensured he'd see them at least a few times a month, and so far his promise had been kept decently. He had arrived late that night, and had had a light dinner with his parents before the group had headed to bed, where he had sat awake most of the light, mind alert and taking in every bit of the surroundings as it could. With having had such little sleep, he had decided half way through the current day that he was going to track down a pool, and get some suppressed energy out. Perhaps his subtle stress would be relieved as well.
And so, he found himself outside the Iwatobi Swim Club, a place of many memories. He was glad it had survived so many years, and nostalgia hit him as he entered within the building, hoping that he could get even a peek at it; or better yet, a swim in. He knew the receptionist, and some of the staff there, and so to his benefit, he was let in rather easily, for only one other person was there to use the pool. He was a bit surprised, but figuring that it was right in the middle of the afternoon, that many would be out doing other things.
He made his way to the pool, hesitating before the doors, before he pushed them open, being greeted with the warm, humid air, the scent of chlorine joining the scene. He blinked slowly, feeling his worries melt away at the presence of one of his favourite things in the world; a pool. As he approached it, he could see the water was so crystal clear, rippling gently against the edges and against the ropes that divided the lanes, The occasional bubble erupting from the circulation systems within the walls of the pool. He loved the big, massive one he swam in every day, but nothing could replace this one, one of the first ones he had officially swam races within.
And suddenly there were droplets of water interrupting that gentle flow of water against the sides, waves following within seconds, an indicator to Haruka that the sign-in sheet at the front had been correct in there being another person there today. Head raising to watch this swimmer, he realized he had caught the male halfway through a relay sprint. The way his arms entered at such an angle, and the repetition of his kick told Haruka that this certain someone was either a natural swimmer, or had had some nice pointers from who knows who. He was a bit impressed, but more so curious than anything, kneeling by the edge of the pool, a lane over from that swimmer, watching wordlessly as the other finished the swim, and came to a stop, Haruka remaining seemingly unnoticed until the male was out of the water. And yet, Haruka didn't speak, only straightening up into a standing position, staring at the other with an unreadable expression, tilting his head just slightly, silent.

[attr="class","tttop"] [attr="class","ttimg"] [attr="class","ttlineone"]i get knocked down [attr="class","ttlinetwo"]but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down [attr="class","ttbody"]Kensei's brown eyes met with Haru's blue eyes, he drew a blank in his mind as he felt like Haru could see right into his soul. That probably wasn't the case in reality, but he quickly pulled himself together as he noticed Haru's look of curiosity. "I'm Kensei Yukimura. I came here to train, since I have access to its facilities. Would you like to join me?" Kensei asked the dark haired boy, trying to break the awkward silence which he was partly to blame for. The ginger assumed that Haru wanted to swim and Kensei made the offer in good faith. Perhaps they could learn some things from each other? Kensei himself was more muscular than most swimmers, but it wasn't bulky enough to slow him down either. The ginger himself was curious about Haru too, even though he was a man of action. Kensei wanted and needed to become a better swimmer for himself and his team, which left him with little to no time to slack off from his own training. The last thing he wanted to do was to get off of his game when he was already doing so well. Kensei wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he let everyone on the Iwatobi swim team down because he didn't push himself hard enough. He would like to believe that he would reach the place that he was aiming for, but he was also fully aware that his teammates would have to be at their best as well. "Do you know Makoto Tachibana?" Kensei found himself asking as he wondered if the person before him was on the swimming team when Makoto was still captain. Still, his words came out as bluntly as ever. haruka nanase ,
| Within seconds of having stood up into a standing position, did Haruka meet the boy's eyes, and the silence dragged on a bit as neither shifted their gaze. Haruka studied the other's face, eyes flickering lightly from his eyes, to his facial features, building a mental note of what this person looked like. "I'm Kensei Yukimura. I came here to train, since I have access to its facilities. Would you like to join me?" The other seemed to have no problem breaking the silence that had fallen, and he was glad that he wasn't going to have to be the one to speak first.
But, he did not respond right away; he did however straighten up at the invitation to swim. It looked like he was going to get to do what he had intended to do after all. He was hesitant; he did not know this person and this person did not know him, and even though he had now been introduced to the other's name, he was still weary. One would think that having moved away and being surrounded by new people all day would remove that anxiety he had about meeting new people, but nope, it was still there, and he was unsure how to introduce himself. He briefly looked at the pool, the clear, still water he loved so dearly. 'He is a swimmer, I mean, that is a good thing...'
"Do you know Makoto Tachibana?" Then there was another question, and this one brought a look of faint surprise upon Haruka's face. He blinked, staring at Kensei once again. 'How do you know Makoto?' His mind questioned, as he nodded slowly. "I do." Was the brief response, a moment of hesitation before he continued. "Why do you ask?"
He then thought back to the introduction. 'If he knows Makoto, then it shouldn't be too bad.' He opened his mouth, but didn't speak right away, pausing to think it over. "And to answer the first question..." He slowly reached out his hand for a handshake; it seemed like a respectful thing to do, a peace offering, a sign of trust. "I'm Haruka Nanase."
